This case studies the modus operandi of American incubators, represented by Y Combinator, to uncover their key to success. It compares them with operations at representative incubators in China, to explore two routes to maturity in the sector. The commonalities and differences between the two sustems are highlighted, and the question is asked: can the successful experience of the American incubator be transplanted? Does the domestic incubator system still have its own unique features?
