In the first seven months of 2010 to July 16, Foxconn’s four mainland Chinese factories saw 16 staff attempt suicide, obviously rattling the PR department. Aged between 17 and 25, these workers should have been in the prime of their lives. Their suicide attempts have given society cause for reflection on what kind of economic development model appears to operate at the expense of human dignity.
