Launched in 2017, the Awards are jointly presented by HBR China edition and management consultant Ram Charan. They recognize innovative and exemplary Chinese companies and leaders, and aim to showcase models of effective management and build a learning platform for best practices. This year’s Ram Charan Award placed particular emphasis to management cases that embraced sustainable development practices, and focused on topics such as carbon neutrality, ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) and income inequality.

CKGSB’s Director of the Social Innovation and Business for Good Centre and Professor of Marketing, Dr. Zhu Rui expressed her joy and gratitude upon receiving the award, saying, “I’m honoured and grateful that Harvard Business Review China has recognized CKGSB’s efforts in social innovation and awarding us this prestigious award. I’m especially delighted to see the business leaders of Banu Hot Pot and Delong Steel incorporating what we promote at CKGSB into their businesses to achieve innovation, social responsibility and sustainability.”

Mr. Ram Charan congratulated the award winners through a video speech saying, “Today we congratulate the winners and applaud those who keep innovating. Innovation is the source of life. It can give birth to a company, and even a new industry. Its benefits go beyond the boundaries of nations to the entire global community. My best wishes to the award winners.”
